Functional assessment is the key to the successful application of physical therapy. It involves an analysis of both the overall functionality of the neuromuscular-skeletal system and the functionality of its individual components, namely joint mobility, muscle weakness, tissue and structure gliding, and more. The analysis must also be combined with proper clinical examination like X-ray, ultrasound, MRI, CT scan, laboratory tests, and others.
