Petya Nedelcheva - national badminton competitor
Competed at 3 Olympic Games – Athens, Beijing, and London!
I met Misho completely by chance back in 2000. I had a massage appointment with a colleague of his, and he filled in for him. After a while, that colleague changed jobs and I lost touch with him. It actually took quite a bit of effort, and a full 2 years, before our next "chance" meeting happened. From that day to this one, he has taken care of my recovery. Honestly, very few people know what injuries and hardships I went through during my career as a national badminton competitor. One of my most serious injuries was to my lower back. A protrusion, a flattening of the L5-S1 disc. In 2005, I spent 20 days in Pirogov Hospital, and the doctors were adamant that surgery was the only option. They even told me: "You'll be lucky if you're ever able to compete again." That was a shock to me, but with the support of my coach and Misho, I firmly refused any kind of surgical intervention. That's when Misho decided we should try physiotherapy and conservative treatment instead. I'll never forget the days I struggled just to walk, trying to believe the pain would eventually go away. Over the course of 3-4 months, I gradually made my way back onto the court and resumed training. But only the people closest to me know how much pain and how many tears that injury cost me. For me, Misho is truly the person who got me back on my feet and brought me fully back to an active life. We've had the chance to work through many injuries together since then. In 2009, I underwent surgery on my right elbow, the so-called "tennis elbow." It was an inflammation that, for about 2 years, refused to heal without surgery. Two weeks later, I was training again. I've also had numerous strains and muscle fiber tears, but Misho has always found the best therapy and treatment for me. And with modern technology, Laser therapy in particular, the results have been quite remarkable too. Sometimes even I'm amazed at how quickly it works and how effective it is.
